Ordering/ Pricing

All prices are starting prices only, and subject to increase depending on the complexity of artwork involved.

Text Box: Ordering & Payment Policies To reserve the date, you need to put down a 50% deposit which is applied to the order. Your order is not confirmed until we have received your signed contract and 50% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit. Should you need to cancel your event, the deposit can be applied to a future event if booked within 30 days from cancellation date, otherwise the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancellation of your order must be done prior to ten (10) business days before the event. Changes or cancellations are not confirmed until you speak directly with a Second Slices representative. Cakes and Cupcakes require a minimum of one week minimum advanced notice for ordering, excluding Wedding cakes. Wedding Cakes/Cupcakes orders require a minimum of one month. There may be cases where exceptions are permitted, depending upon the circumstances and factors such as materials needed, cake flavours, prep time and design themes. All Cake orders must be in person, telephone orders are not final until the deposit is received. Full payment is due at time of ordering for all orders $180.00 or less. A 50% deposit is due for all orders over $180.00, with final payment due on the day of pick-up or delivery. Wedding cake balances must be paid in full two weeks prior to delivery date, unless prior payment arrangements have been made. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or Paypal. Cake orders placed with less than two weeks notice require payment in full by credit /debit card at the time of ordering. Deposits are non-refundable.
Design/Tasting appointments are held for most, but not all, cake orders. There is a non-refundable/non-transferable $30 deposit required for appointments. The $30 deposit will be deducted from the final cost of your cake order should you place an order with us.
Event dates are held for you through the date of your appointment or quote, and five (5) business days afterwards. If we do not receive a signed contract and 50% deposit within five (5) business days of your appointment or quote, your date may become unavailable. We use fresh ingredients and we bake from scratch. Ingredients include flour, sugar, eggs, butter, milk, fruits and nuts. Preservatives are not used in our products. We bake butter cakes...a lot like pound cakes and nothing at all like grocery store cake mixes. We are not a certified Kosher establishment but we do offer gluten free, dairy free and egg free products. Also note that some of our products may contain nuts. Or be made with nut by products such as coconut, coconut milk or coconut oil, therefore those with nut allergies should not consume our products. We are however a peanut free baker. Since preservatives are not used in our products, it is highly recommended that our cakes and cupcakes should be served and consumed within 2 or 3 days after you pick up your order or it gets delivered if stored properly. If you provide us with a photo or cloth swatch of your wedding dress of something you want us to replicate, we will try our best to include as much detail as possible. We cannot guarantee a 100% color match, but will try our best with what is provided to us. If for some unforeseen circumstance (i.e. natural emergency, power outage, car accident, etc) out of Second Slices Cakery Inc.’s control, we will reimburse the 70% of your order only. Currently, we only offer deliveries and set-ups for weddings within the Edmonton City Limits and surrounding area (Sherwood Park). Delivery rates start at $50 and go up. Pricing for Wedding/Event Cakes/Cupcakes Every cake we created is unique and will be priced based on time, skill and ingredients required. Please contact us to quote your specific project. Premium flavours and complexity of design will add to the costs. A firm price can be given when it's clear exactly what you are looking for. There is a $100 minimum to order a celebration/birthday cake. There is a $400 minimum to order a wedding cake. A consultation and tasting is available for prospective brides by appointment only.
